1. About the service and operator
This Privacy Policy explains how the Android app Custom Sliding Puzzle (the “App”), published by subCharacters (“we”, “us”), handles information. The App turns photos or videos you choose into sliding puzzles.
The App has no accounts, login, cloud storage, online leaderboards, or in-app purchases. It is free to use and displays banner ads provided through Google AdMob.
2. Information collected and processed
We do not operate servers for the App, and we do not collect, receive, or store your personal information through the App. Information related to the App is handled as follows:
- Photos and videos you select are processed on your device. The App does not send them to our servers or to advertising services (see Section 3).
- Advertising-related data may be collected and processed by Google through the ads and consent SDKs included in the App (see Section 4).
- If you contact us by email, we receive your email address and the contents of your message, and use them only to respond to you.
3. Photos and videos are processed locally
- The App accesses your photos or videos only when you choose them to create a puzzle.
- The selected media, its thumbnails, and puzzle metadata are saved in the App’s private storage on your device.
- We do not upload your photos, videos, or puzzle data to any server operated by us, and the App does not send your photos or videos to advertising services.
- Separately from the App, Android’s system backup features may include app data in a device backup (for example, to your Google Account), depending on your device, your settings, and the App’s backup configuration. Such backups are handled by Android and Google under your device and account settings, not by us.
4. Advertising and third-party services
The App uses the Google Mobile Ads SDK (Google AdMob) to show banner ads, and includes Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP) SDK, Google’s consent management tool. These services are provided by Google, and Google processes the data they collect in accordance with its own privacy policy.
According to Google’s official data disclosure for the Google Mobile Ads SDK, the SDK may automatically collect and share:
- IP address, which may be used to estimate the general location of the device;
- User product interactions, such as app launches, taps, and video views;
- Diagnostic information related to app and SDK performance, such as app launch time, hang rate, and energy usage;
- Device identifiers, such as the Android advertising ID and app set ID.
Google states that this data is used for advertising, analytics, and fraud prevention, and that it is encrypted in transit using TLS. Depending on your region and choices, the ads you see may be personalized or non-personalized. You can reset or delete your Android advertising ID in your device settings.

5. Consent and privacy choices
Where required by applicable law, the App presents advertising privacy choices through Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP). If privacy choices are required for you, you can review or change your choices, or withdraw your consent, in Privacy Options in the App. For privacy inquiries, please contact subcharacters@gmail.com.
6. Data retention and deletion
- Puzzles, media, thumbnails, and metadata remain on your device until you delete them.
- When you delete a puzzle, the App deletes the local media and metadata for that puzzle.
- Clearing the App’s data or uninstalling the App may remove its local data from your device. We do not keep a copy, so we cannot restore it for you. Whether the data can be restored from an Android system backup depends on your device and backup settings.
- Data collected by Google is retained according to Google’s privacy policy.
- Emails you send us are kept only as long as needed to respond to and handle your inquiry.
7. Children’s privacy
The App is intended for a general audience aged 13 and over and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
8. Security
Your puzzle data is stored in the App’s private storage, which Android generally does not allow other apps to access. According to Google, data collected by the Google Mobile Ads SDK is encrypted in transit. However, no method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so please also protect your device with a screen lock and keep it up to date.
9. International data processing
Google may process data collected through its SDKs on servers located in countries other than your own, including the United States, in accordance with Google’s privacy policy.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal information, to object to processing, and to withdraw consent. Because we do not store your personal information on our servers, you can delete local App data directly on your device. For data processed by Google, please refer to Google’s privacy policy and the Google resources listed in Section 4. If you have any questions or requests, contact us using the details in Section 12.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when the App or applicable requirements change. Any updated policy will be posted on this page.
